Multi Factor Authentication - SMS Set up instructions
Note: This MFA option can only be approved through a School Principal or PIL Representative and the CIO of ICT (Rowan Dollar).
The purpose of this article is to guide staff through setting up SMS notifications for MFA verify.
Multi-Factor Authentication is the second step to verify your identity when you sign into CECG ICT Provided Systems and Services. It prevents anyone besides you from gaining access to your account, even if your password is stolen. It's easier than you think for someone to steal your password. Things that can put you at risk of having your password stolen are:
- Using the same password for other sites or services.
- People watching you type it in.
- Sharing your password with others.
- Downloading malicious software and content.
-
Clicking on bad links in email messages.
Using a strong password in conjunction with Multi-Factor Authentication prevents malicious access to your account and personal information and protects CECG data.
